PORTAGE, Mich. – Dominating from start to finish.


Behind an impressive and dominating effort, the Michigan-based Portage Soccer Club 2009 Girls-Green Premier-II captured the National League Midwest Conference-Blue Division this past fall along with capturing two other tournament titles.


Inside league play, Portage SC 2009 Girls-Green finished 7-1-0 to capture the crown. The side outscored the opposition 31-4 in eight league matches and posted five shutouts enroute to the championship.


The team also went 3-0-0 in winning two tournaments and finished 4-1 in the MSYSA State Cup tournament in its age group, reaching the state semifinals.

In the state tournament, the side outscored the opposition 14-4 with a pair of clean sheets. Portage SC was ousted in the Final Four of the U-17 state tournament with a 2-1 loss to the Michigan Rangers FC 09G Elite 64 team that ended up winning the state title.


Portage SC, which pulls heavily from the Kalamazoo, Michigan, area, also captured the PK Classic last August with a 3-0-0 record. The team posted a 19-0 scoring edge with three shutouts to open the 2024-25 campaign.


The talented Portage SC 2009 Girls-Green wrapped up the fall portion of its season with another tournament win, earning the Women’s Gateway Showcase title. The team again posted some impressive numbers, going 3-0-0 behind a 10-2 scoring differential with another clean sheet.


Overall, in the fall season from August through December, the Portage SC 2009 Girls-Green played 19 matches spanning all tournaments and league play and finished with an 17-2-0 overall record. The side outscored its opposition 74-10 with 11 shutouts. Both of the team’s losses this fall season were 2-1 setbacks.

The side will continue to play this winter until the Michigan high school girls soccer season commences in mid-March 2025.
