PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Riveters SC has added a pair of experienced players to help round out its inaugural roster for 2025, bringing on forward/midfielder Sabrina Bryan and midfielder Chloe Kuminkoski to their squad.
Both players have Pittsburgh-area roots and history in the Riverhounds Development Academy before going off to complete successful NCAA Division I college careers. Their places are pending USL and U.S. Soccer approval once 2025 registration opens.
Bryan, 26, became one of the most decorated players in Hofstra University history after completing her high school career as a state champion with Canon-McMillan High School.
In four years with the Pride, Bryan was a three-time All-Colonial Athletic Association First Team selection, twice the CAA Attacking Player of the Year, a United Soccer Coaches Third Team All-American as a junior in 2019, and, as a senior, she was named to the Watch List for the MAC Hermann Trophy, college soccer’s top honor. She finished her career as the Pride’s all-time assists leader with 27 and sixth in school history for goals with 33.
“Sabrina will bring a wealth of experience and knows what it means to have played for the Hounds Academy as a youth player,” Riveters head coach Scott Gibson said. “What she achieved at Hofstra is nothing short of amazing, and we are excited to see her come full circle as a Riveter this summer. She will offer great balance to the squad as a left-footed winger, and she is an exceptional 1v1 player.”
Kuminkoski, 23, was a two-time state champion at Moon Area High School before committing to Loyola (Md.) University.
A versatile player able to play in the midfield or in more defensive roles, she appeared in 57 matches over a four-year career with the Greyhounds, wrapping up with a 2023 season in which she had two goals and two assists. With Kuminkoski starting every match as a senior, Loyola finished with 11 wins, the most in a season for the program since 2012.
“Chloe also came through the Academy and represented us at the USL Academy League level. She is ready now to take the next step as a Riveter and will provide leadership, experience and versatility,” Gibson said. “Chloe is a powerful player and will give us that engine needed across a number of positions. She is technically very strong and will be a huge asset to the squad.”
The Riveters will kick off their first season in the USL W League’s Great Forest Division this May at Highmark Stadium. Season tickets are on sale now at riveterssc.com, and single-game tickets will go on sale after the announcement of the team’s schedule this Tuesday, Feb. 18.
