TAMPA, Fla. — Ally Cook came through in the clutch during stoppage time Thursday night.

The Spokane Zephyr FC forward scored in the third minute of stoppage time to vault the Zephyr to a 2-1 victory over Tampa Bay Sun FC on Tuesday night at Riverfront Stadium in USL Super League play.

Taylor Aylmer put the Zephyr up 1-0 when she netted an unassisted tally in the 61st minute.

The lead stood until the 89th minute when Tampa Bay forward Natasha Flint leveled the game up at 1-1 late in the contest.

That’s when Cook corralled a pass from teammate Haley Marie Thomas and slotted one home in the waning seconds to life Spokane (5-7-6) to win in late-game style.

Hope Hisey recorded two saves in three chances for the Zephyr, who outshot the Sun 17-10 overall and held a 6-3 edge with shots on goal and 7-4 advantage off cornerkicks.

Tampa Bay slipped to 6-5-8 overall.
