WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Premier Soccer League will feature teams in several conferences, including the Great Lakes Conference, which is split into East and West divisions for the 2025 season, with teams like Cedars FC, Inter Detroit, and Michigan Stars U23 in the Great Lakes-East, and FC Milwaukee Torrent and others in the Great Lakes-West.
The league has expanded in the last few years, especially in the Midwest and Great Lakes areas of the U.S.
There new teams in the league – Cruizers FC, New Haven United FC, Rochester NY FC Academy, Ambassadors FC Ohio, Oklahoma United FC, Virginia Dream Football Club, Cedar Stars, Ristozi FC, and FC Pontiac – with several of them officially added here during the first two months of 2025.
The league has a direct affiliation to the United States Adult Soccer Association and does have some of its teams that have qualified for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. The 90-plus franchise league – and growing – was founded back in 2003 with El Farolito winning the 2024 crown. Miami FC is the only team to win two national championships in the league’s 22-year history.
The season generally runs from May through June, although the west region will sometimes start games in late March or in April as warmer weather in the southwest and Southern California permits.
