NEBRASKA GIRLS SOCCER: Gretna East shuts out Elkhorn North; Blair remains perfect

GRETNA, Neb. – The offensive machine otherwise known as Gretna East added to its impressive totals Wednesday.


The No. 2-ranked team in Class B in Nebraska posted its 10th straight win to open the season with a resounding 3-0 shutout of Elkhorn North in a non-conference girls soccer game.


The Griffins have now outscored its opposition 48-8 to fuel their 10-0-0 start. Gretna East has averaged 4.8 goals per game while holding the opposition to 0.80 goals a game.


Kendall Dobberstein picked up two goals with an assist and Addison LaRock added a goal and an assist for the team’s sixth straight home win of the season.


Maddie Schaffert notched the shutout for the Griffins on the strength of four saves. Gretna East led 1-0 at the half before tacking on two more insurance goals in the second half.


BLAIR 4, GRETNA 1: Blair is another team whose offense is clicking on all cylinders.

 

The Bears moved to perfect 9-0-0 with this recent win over the Dragons.


Senior Brynn Ray notched the hat trick to pace Blair. Cadence Field added a goal and an assist, while Beau Wendt and Kaitlynn O’Neil both had single assists for Blair.


Brooklyn Schroeter made four saves in five chances for the Bears, who own an impressive 66-3 scoring edge with seven shutouts in nine games. 


Brielle Thompson scored for Gretna in the non-conference loss.


Blair has averaged 7.34 goals per game as a team, while defensively the Bears’ team goals-against-average is a paltry 0.34.
