FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (Jan. 16, Reuters) – The New England Revolution signed forward Maximiliano Urruti to a one-year contract on Thursday with a club option for 2026.
Urruti, 33, joins the Revolution after spending the 2022 and 2023 seasons with Austin FC, posting 10 goals and two assists in 57 games (38 starts) in that span. In 11 MLS seasons, he has 70 goals and 39 assists in 295 games (218 starts) with Toronto FC, the Portland Timbers, FC Dallas, CF Montreal, the Houston Dynamo and Austin.
The Argentina native ranks ninth in goals and 17th in games played among active MLS players. In 13 playoff games (four starts), he has two goals. He was a member of the MLS champion Timbers in 2015 and helped FC Dallas clinch the Supporters' Shield in 2016.
“Maxi Urruti has built a very decorated career in Major League Soccer,” Revolution sporting director Curt Onalfo said. “As an MLS Cup Champion, Maxi's track record of success in MLS speaks for itself. With 11 seasons of MLS experience, Maxi is the type of veteran player who will make a quick impact on our team. I look forward to welcoming Maxi to the New England Revolution.”
In 2011, Urruti made his professional debut with Newell’s Old Boys of Argentina’s Primera Division. His three-year tenure included a semifinal round appearance in the 2013 Copa Libertadores. He also made eight appearances for Argentinian club Platense in 2024.
