ST. LOUIS, Mo. – In a blockbuster move, the St. Louis Ambush traded the MASL's all-time leading point scorer Franck Tayou Friday to the Milwaukee Wave for Robert Williamson and cash considerations.
Tayou was fifth this season in the MASL in goals with 17, while he was sixth in total points at 26. He was also top 20 in the league with nine assists.
Additionally, the Cameroon-born Tayou averaged 1.9 points per game this season for St. Louis.
The former West Virginia University standout is a four-time MASL League MVP – all in the last decade – and has played 12 seasons of professional indoor soccer.
Combining 12 seasons in both the PASL and MASL, Tayou entered the 2024-2025 season with 437 career goals and 148 assists to go along with his 17 goals and nine assists this season.
Robert Williamson heads to the St. Louis Ambush just over a week following the MASL All-Star break. The ball-hawking defender had three goals with one assist before the trade.
Milwaukee currently sits in fifth place in the 12-team MASL standings with a 9-3-2 overall record, good for 27 points but 13 points behind league-leader Chihuahua Savage and three points behind fourth-place Baltimore Blast (30 points).
The Ambush are in the midst of a rebuilding campaign, sitting in 10th place with a 4-10-1 overall record and just 12 points.
