MILWAUKEE, Wisc. – Alex Ferdinand is now in some elite company.

In Tuesday’s 7-6 overtime loss Tuesday to Major Arena Soccer League-leader Chihuahua Savage, Ferdinand, the talented Milwaukee Wave forward, became just the third player in MASL history to record 200 career assists.

Ferdinand had two assists in the defeat to eclipse the rare mark at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena. He assisted on Alex Sanchez’s goal with 11:55 left in the second quarter, while he also drew the assist on Mario Alvarez’s goal with 3:58 remaining in the fourth quarter to hit the 200-assist barrier.

So far this season Ferdinand has played in 11 games and registered two goals and 11 assists – second in the MASL this season – to go along with 15 points and one game-winning goal for the Wave.

Milwaukee is currently in fourth place in the MASL standings with an 8-2-1 overall record, a 78-58 scoring edge and a plus-20 differential.

Ferdinand is in his 11th season in the MASL. He started in 2014-2015 with the Baltimore Blast where he collected 12 goals and 16 assists to begin his career in the league and has played for three different franchises in the league during his tenure – two different stints with both the Wave and Baltimore Blast and one season with the St. Louis Ambush.

As of this week, Ferdinand has 116 goals and the 200 assists in his career. Both Leo Gibson and Nick Perera entered the 2024-25 season with 225 career assists apiece.
