HAMPTON, Ga. – After falling behind by a goal at the half, Sugar Hill Christian outscored host Hampton Bible Baptist Christian 3-1 in the second half Friday to gain a thrilling 4-3 victory in Georgia high school girls soccer action.
The win kept the Stallions a perfect 4-0-0 to start the season where they now hold a 13-5 scoring edge this season.
Freshman Ava Brown scored three goals for the Stallions. Charlotte Brown added the other goal and Makena Natarajan picked up an assist for Sugar Hills Christian, which trailed 2-1 at the break.
Natarajan and senior Ava Weeks combined for four saves in five total chances to share the win in goal.
Hampton Bible Baptist Christian (0-3-0) picked up a pair of goals from Kelsey Smith in the loss, as the Eagles are still searching for their first win.
Sugar Hill outshot Bible Baptist by a 25-12 margin, including 12-7 with shots on goal.
CUMMING PINECREST ACADEMY 8, FLOWERY BRANCH TRINITY CHRISTIAN 2: Pinecrest Academy had some freshman flavor Friday, as ninth-graders finished all over the stat book in this non-conference win. Freshman Maddy Neff led the way with a goal and three assists for Pinecrest Academy. Freshman Portia DeFehr and senior Fia Del Brizo both scored two goals, junior Anna Broderson scored a goal, and freshmen Elena Snyder and Courtney Moses had single tallies for Pinecrest Academy. Freshmen goalkeepers Katherine Crain and Elena Snyder combined for three saves in goal for the Paladins (11-0-0). Pinecrest already owns an 81-19 scoring edge one month into the season. Ava Brooks scored twice for Flowery Branch Trinity Christian (4-5-0).
PORTAL 5, CLAXTON 2: Colby Stewart collected three goals with an assists, as the Panthers rolled to the non-league win. Serenity Williams and Maggie Brennen added a goal and an assist apiece and Anna Davis recorded 13 saves in 15 chances for Portal.
WARNER ROBINS 10, MACON NORTHEAST 0: Warner Robins moved to 9-1-0 on the season with this lopsided win Friday. Alexas Brown scored five goals to lead the way. Adriana Lopez added two goals and two assists for the Demons.
DUBLIN TRINITY CHRISTIAN 2, DEXTER WEST LAURENS 1: Trinity Christan edged out West Laurens Friday in this non-league match. The Crusaders moved to 4-2-0 on the season, while the Raiders slipped to 8-4-0.
TRENTON DADE COUNTY 3, BLUE RIDGE FANNIN COUNTY 2: Dade County squeaked out this overtime win in league play Friday to move to 4-3-0 on the campaign.
BAXLEY PIERCE COUNTY 5, BLACKSHEAR APPLING COUNTY 0: The Bears improved to 7-4-0 on the season with this non-league victory. Appling County slipped to 1-12-0 on the season.
PERRY 3, WAYCROSS WARE COUNTY 0: Perry moved to 6-0-0 in conference play and 8-4-0 overall with this shutout victory Friday. The Gators fell to 5-7-0 and 2-5-0.
